FB150 Frame
The FB150 comes with an x frame structure. It is a two-piece frame, meaning it has two pieces that are joined together, forming an X, hence the name, X frame. The frame is light, considering it is constructed using steel and weighs only 32 Lbs (14.5 Kg). The bike is not overly large and when the frame is fully assembled, its length is 80cm long / 46cm wide, while the height from the floor to the handlebars is approximately 120 cm. The bike’s overall footprint is 42 x 46 cm, although it is recommended that you have two feet of clearance around both sides. The foldable frame allows you to fold her away when not in use and the transport wheels make it nice and easy to push to the side.
The Maximum Weight Capacity of the FB150 is not the greatest you’ll find at only 225 lbs (102 kg) but should be more than adequate for the majority of folks. For example, some bikes come with a weight capacity of 400lbs (181 kg).
Seat/handlebars
If you take your comfort seriously as you cycle, the Xterra won’t let you down. Its seat is wide enough to suit most sizes and is very comfortable. The bike seat is 35cm at its widest point an made from a durable vinyl with a layer of padding on top for maximum comfort and support. You can adjust the seat up and down, while the post has seven adjustable positions that allow you to set the bike to the height you like best. The handlebars provide a good grip with their rubber foam, multi-grip covering. The handlebars also have pulse sensors to track your heart rate as you ride.
Resistance/ Drive Of The FB150
The manual magnetic resistance system on the FB150 incorporates a small magnetic brake that is attached to the dial at the top/front part of the frame, using a steel wire. Turning the dial either way will increase or decrease the resistance that the flywheel provides. Meaning you can easily change the intensity of your workout and add extra variety whenever you like. It’s a complete manual resistance system with eight levels of resistance, which means you can set up the bike wherever you see fit, as no power is required. Overall the pedaling motion of the Xterra fb150 folding exercise bike is nice and smooth, which in part is down to the belt drive system. Another feature is, if you decide to pedal backward, the bike will still be able to track your distance and calories burned.
Pedals
The pedals have a non-slip ABS surface with a metallic core and are weighted so as they always face upwards while also featuring straps to help hold your feet securely in place.
FB150 Fitness meter
The FB150 comes with a meter/console that houses an LCD that makes it easy for you to view all the data you need to see as you progress through your training sessions and fitness levels. Data readouts are distance speed, calories burned, and pulse. The LCD provides a scan function that periodically (every few seconds) jumps through each metric allowing you to have a wider view of your readings as you cycle. You also have the option of the meter readings staying static, so if you are only interested in one aspect of your workout, such as distance, etc. Track your pulse by placing your hands over the inbuilt sensors on the handlebars of the bike. If you’re a non-techy and can’t want to get down to business, you’ll be glad to know that the battery-powered (two AA) console is nice and easy to use. It has one button which comes on when it detects movement in the flywheel of the bike.

XTERRA Fitness FB150 Folding Exercise Bike Review
I rolled out of bed today morning, feeling a little hesitant about whether I’ll go jogging or ride my mountain bike across the woods.
Admittedly, it took decades to decide on the best strategy to lose weight and become fit. Like everyone else, I wanted to achieve results overnight, but that’s not how it’s meant to happen – I had to start with looking for the best fitness bike.
After scouring the market for an ideal mountain bike, the XTERRA Fitness FB150 Folding bike – a very compact and foldable bike – drifted my attention from my search for the conventional bike.
The silver and blue color, coupled with the aesthetic design, was incredibly appealing (at least to me anyway), and it made me decide to give it a shot.
I’ve been using the bike for almost a year, and what I can say is that its performance and design is appealing. At a glance, it is compact and folds pretty straightforward, making it an ideal option for people with little storage space.
It’s an excellent question to ask whether the investment would be worthwhile since no one wants to misappropriate their investment on something that won’t work for them.
In this review, we’ll look at a comprehensive guide to picture how it works.
Sturdiness
Its steel frame is designed in an X-shaped tubular frame that provides stable support to the seat exercise. The stabilizers to the support tubes are located on the narrow side of the bike, and despite their location, most users haven’t reported much of instability.
The bike is designed to be on a level surface as it lacks levelers meant to balance it on an unleveled surface. That said, there is some controversy when it comes to the balance between comfort level and resistance.
Whether you’re starting out or in an immense level of training for your physical shape, you’ll find an optimum level of resistance when using this bike. Keeping in mind that the bike uses a magnetic resistance that adjusts the resistance level on a scale of 1-8, there are several options for you to work with multiple resistance settings.
Adjustability
The bike can be set to fit users between 4 feet, 10 inches and 5 feet, 10 inches.
This adjustment is achieved by setting the adjustment knob on the support pole then you insert a pin to counter slippage.
Depending on the adjustment, the seat moves up and down on a diagonal plane, which brings you close to or away from the handlebars.
If you are over the upper threshold, you can use the bike, but you’ll likely get cramped and your legs will be more bent when the pedal goes to the farthest point.
At the same time, being below 4 ft. 10 inches will likely have your legs stretched on the downstroke to keep in touch with the pedal optimally.
Comfort
Naturally, there will be some debate on the comfort a user gets when using a piece of equipment.
Most consumers get an optimum comfort level when using the seat, owing to its foam material and relative broadness. The handlebars are also encased with foam, which gives consumers adequate grip.
On the contrary, users shorter than 4 ft. 10 inches claim that this bike isn’t comfortable. Despite the room for adjustment, the users argue that they have to compromise their comfort when using the bike for prolonged periods.
Drive
The XTERRA FB150 bike uses a magnetic resistance technology with a belt-drive that transfers torque from the pedal and makes transition fairly smooth.
One notable benefit of this belt drive is that it needs no lubrication; hence maintenance is significantly low. Although it features a flywheel with a weight of about 1.5kg, you can pedal in the reverse direction to diversify your training.
Design and finishing
The seat and handlebars are integral components of this bike that determine the ultimate riding experience and comfort.
The XTERRA FB150 features curved handlebars with multi-grip technology attached to two bolts at the center. The handlebars are encapsulated in a foam material to boost your grip.
There is a pulse sensor designed of stainless steel that monitors your pulse rate and displays it on the screen at the joint where a bolt holds the curved handlebars.
The XTERRA FB150 seat is colossal that goes up to 14 inches in length at the widest point. Typically, it’s expected that users below 225 pounds can optimally use the seat. However, users of all sizes can use it as well.
The top seat is made of thick vinyl material with added padding that enhances its comfort. If you think that it’s not comfortable enough, you might add a seat cover.
However, one drawback of the seat is that it’s connected to the bike in a rather unusual manner. Rather than having a collar design, it has a triangular pattern that meets the frame using three bolts. Even though this mechanism enhances comfort, removing it may prove a little daunting.
Another essential part is the paint finishing of the seat. The metallic components have chip and dust-resistant coatings that compound the material sturdiness. Beyond the apparent resistance that this finishing complements, it also provides an elegant look.
Pros
Takes up little space since it’s foldable
Pedals have straps that provide a firm grip to avoid slipping
A good finish that not only enhances sturdiness but complements the elegance
Quiet and smooth ride for people between 4ft. 10 inches and 5ft. 10 inches
A belt-drive system that allows for forward and backward riding movement.
Cons
It’s not designed for high-intensity workouts
Handlebars are not adjustable
Replacing the seat can be a little daunting
It lacks a place to put a smart device or water bottle
Conclusion
Customer reviews are on a whole range positive.
Most consumers claim that its compactness, elegance, and smoothness are the primary metrics that make this bike ideal for them. On the contrary, some users aren’t happy with replacing a faulty component – like the seat.
Overall, the XTERRA FB150 is an economically priced bike that will not only give you a fantastic experience but keep you active and fit.
